Royal Academy artists photographed by Dennis Toff

Dennis Toff has recently completed a major project photographing 58 of the 62 Painter Members of the Royal Academy of Arts - the most comprehensive series since George Dance sketched many of the members in 1793! The project took 81-year-old Dennis 10 months to complete, during which time he travelled to Italy, Sicily, the US and around the UK to capture the artists in their own studios. The National Portrait Gallery have acquired 24 of the portraits for their collection, and the complete set, together with images of the artists' work and brief biographies, will be published in a book by Unicorn Press in May.
