Lensmodern members in print

Tuesday 8th of January 2008

The work of Lensmodern members Andreas Heumann, Dean Freeman and Harvey Benge feature in three new photographic publications.

'Augenblick' by Andreas Heumann, available from his website www.andreas.heumann.com'Augenblick' by Andreas Heumannn contains the images from his one-man exhibition of photographs and paintings, which was held during October. This fascinating book is partly autobiographical and the photographs are very much part of his own experiences, his creative thoughts and the continuing and penetrating interpretations of his own life. It is available to purchase, priced £16, via Andreas' website - www.andreas-heumann.com.

'A Short History of Photography' by Harvey Benge, published by Dewi Lewis 'A Short History of Photography' (Dewi Lewis £14.99) is the latest in a series of over a dozen books by New Zealand & Paris based photographer Harvey Benge. Produced in association with photo historian and critic Gerry Badger, this book is a unique 'anthology' of original photographs by Harvey which quite unintentionally remind the viewer of images by famous names such as Friedlander, Baltz and Parr.

'FunkyTown' by Dean Freeman, published by Damiani Editore 'FunkyTown' (Damiani Editore £25) is the fourth major book by Dean Freeman, whose previous titles feature exclusive images of celebrities David Beckham, Geri Halliwell and the Spice Girls. This latest publication comprises the very best of Dean's work and encompasses a variety of themes alongside his celebrity portraits, including three decades of youth culture, from 1980s Notting Hill to Rio parties in 2006.

Look out later this year for more publications by Lensmodern photographers, including the results of Adam Hinton's 3 year project on Shanghai which will be published by Dewi Lewis in May.
