Clare Park on show
Wednesday 3rd of November 2010
This image by Clare Park, entitled 'Trampoline', is currently on show in a unique photographic exhibition of collaborative work at St Pancras Hospital, London, which explores how people can live with long term conditions and life changing illnesses. Through using creative expression, the exhibition, entitled 'Altered Lives - Performing Ourselves', reveals how people can regain their self-esteem and control over their illness. Clare was recently awarded a Gold Medal and the £2000 Allen & Overy Prize in the Royal Photographic Society's 153rd International Print Exhibition for an image taken from 'Breaking Form', a narrative photographic study of Buz Williams and Parkinson’s disease. The exhibition runs until 18th November at The Conference Centre, St Pancras Hospital, London NW11 and is open to the public Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm.
Clare is also currently exhibiting three large scale pieces of work in ‘Open Here’ at The Courtyard Centre for the Arts, part of the Hereford Photography Festival. The exhibition ‘Twenty’ is simultaneously showing at Hereford Museum and Art Gallery and includes work by Martin Parr, John Bulmer, Paul Hill and Simon Norfolk. The festival and the fringe this year occupies over 40 venues in Hereford, Worcester and as far afield as Birmingham and Wales. The Courtyard Centre for the Arts can be found in Edgar Street, Hereford, HR4 9JR and is open to the public Monday to Saturday from 10am to 8pm and Sunday from 11am to 2:30pm.
