Bryce Attwell was born in New Zealand. After leaving school he worked for the NZ Travel and Publicity department as a photographer in Wellington, before moving to Auckland to work on the New Zealand Women’s Weekly as a staff photographer in the early 60s.

Three years later he moved to the UK where he set up his own studio in London specialising in food and still life work. His clients included magazines, advertising agencies, book publishers and design groups and he won a couple of AFAEP (now AOP) awards on the way. He was also AFAEP Chairman for a term.

In 1984 Bryce joined a T.V. Commercials production company and gradually phased out stills photography. Five years later, along with producer Amanda Martin, he set up Attwell/Martin Films which a few years later became 2AM Films. As Director/Lighting cameraman Bryce worked for clients in the UK, Italy, Germany, Belgium, France, Austria, Holland and the United States.

Bryce is currently living in France. As well as having a working relationship with 2AM Films he is now rediscovering the joys of photography and had an exhibition of his still life work during 2003 in Valbonne.
